Blessing And HonourSpeaker: Dr. Paul Dhinakaran Gist: What a wonderful blessing we receive when we enter His presence! He gives double honour only to a few people. You can receive this double honour and two-fold blessings when you enter His presence. "In His presence there is honour and majesty." (1 Chronicles 16:27)
"Instead of your shame you shall have double honour." (Isaiah 61:7)
The Lord has promised, "I will appoint them for praise and fame In every land where they were put to shame." (Zephaniah 3:19)
What a wonderful blessing we receive when we enter His presence! He gives double honour only to a few people. To whom will He give this double honour? The Bible says, "If anyone serves Me, My Father will honor him" (John 12:26).
Many years ago, a student was doing his engineering course in Madras. He was a studious person and used to talk to him about Christ. At that time the Spirit of the Lord started to work in him. Very soon he accepted Jesus Christ as his Saviour. His family was very rich. He finished his engineering course and came out in flying colours. At that juncture he said to his father, "Daddy, I love Jesus Christ. I have become His child. Find me a girl accordingly, to be my life partner." His father, raged with anger, said, "You decide whether you want Jesus or my wealth", as he had other plans for his son. The boy was shocked. He did not know what to do. Where will he go? How will he support himself? He was in a tight corner. On the other side, how can he deny his love for Christ? Then he said, "I want only Jesus." He went to another place where he took up small jobs on contract basis. God honoured him in that. Today, he is a well known contractor in that place. He takes up contract worth millions of Rupees even from the Government. Not only that, God has blessed him a with a wife working in a high position, who loves Christ very much. There is happiness in the family. God is also using him mightily in ministry. He has brought many people to the Lord by establishing a church there. I was flabbergasted when I heard his life story. Eveybody honours him today, though his father had once rejected him for his zeal for the Lord.
My dear friend, you will have glory and honour in the place where you are put to shame. It might be in your home, in your workplace, or in the society; but you will receive two-fold blessings when you enter His presence.
Prayer:
Loving Heavenly Father,
You have given great honour to everyone who loves You with all their heart, all their mind and all their strength. Lord Jesus, I accept You into my heart as my Redeemer. Perfect everything in my life by the power of Your love. Wash me from all my previous sins and lead me in the paths of righteousness. Holy Spirit, transform my life and by Your presence, bless me with double honour that You have promised to all those who serve You and live following Your divine guidance. I pray this prayer in Jesus' matchless name.
