Sing Songs of PraiseSpeaker: Sis. Stella Dhinakaran Gist: The Lord hears our cries through the Holy Spirit and delivers us from the pains and suffering that we undergo in our day-to-day life. We should give praise to the Almighty even amidst of trials. "Now the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty." (2 Corinthians 3:17)
The Lord hears our cries through the Holy Spirit and delivers us from the pains and suffering that we undergo in our day-to-day life. We should give praise to the Almighty, ever living God, by opening our hearts to Him and singing praises to Him even in the midst of trials and tribulations that we undergo everyday.
When I was a young girl, my mother would tell me to learn the songs of praise by heart. But I would never listen to her. Later after my marriage, when I submitted myself completely to the Lord, I committed to stand along with my husband to assist him in the ministry. After my marriage, my mother came to be with me for sometime. During that time, I used to ask my mother to teach me songs of praise. My husband and I would sing those songs. Whenever I was alone, I used to sing those songs. When we sing songs of praise, our faith strengthens. The presence of the Lord will fill our home.
Dear friend, if you sing songs of praise in the presence of the Lord, there will be no room for lack of peace in your family.
People who have the experience of looking up to the Lord for all their needs, experience peace, joy and happiness in themselves and in their homes. Cry out to the Lord and say, "Lord, you are my wisdom. I cannot do anything without you. You help me." When you go through trying times, even in painful moments, if you sing songs of praise to the Lord, you will feel the hand of God helping you.
We read the story of Jehoshaphat in the book of 2 Chronicles in the Bible. When King Jehoshaphat sang a song of praise to the Lord of hosts, he got victory.
"Now when they began to sing and to praise, the LORD set ambushes against the people of Ammon, Moab, and Mount Seir, who had come against Judah; and they were defeated." (2 Chronicles 20:22)
My dear friend, even while they were singing, their enemies fought among themselves. Whoever came against the people of Israel were defeated.
"No weapon formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue which rises against you in judgment You shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is from Me." (Isaiah 54:17)
The devil might say, "I will break this family." But the devil will be put to shame if you sing, "Halleluiah! Praise the Lord! The Lord is with me. Thanks be to Him!"
"Then they returned, every man of Judah and Jerusalem, with Jehoshaphat in front of them, to go back to Jerusalem with joy, for the Lord had made them rejoice over their enemies." (2 Chronicles 20:27)
My dear friend, in the same way, the Lord will nullify your problems. The Lord will graciously enable you to sing praises to His name. See what a loving and compassionate God we have. He will neither forget you nor will he forsake you.
Prayer:
Gracious Heavenly Father,
Grant me grace to sing praises to You. Even if all my beloved people forget me, I believe with all my heart that You will neither forget me nor forsake me. Lord, cover me with Your powerful and loving wings and protect me from the evil one. Father, I believe and trust You with all my heart, mind and spirit. In Jesus' mighty name, I pray.
Amen. |
