Be Brave and Bold!

Speaker: Sis. Stella Dhinakaran

Gist: Be brave and bold. Cast away all your anxieties that depress your heart, and commit yourself wholly to Jesus. He will grant you victory in any fierce battle and keep you from stumbling.

"In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world." (John 16:33)

Lord Jesus Christ demonstrated living a life which is a role model for each one of us. If we exactly follow His example, our lives will surely be victorious. Even in the life of pious people, there are so many sufferings, insults and disgrace. Lord Jesus said, "Foxes have holes and birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay His head" (Luke 9:58). Why should Jesus, Son of the living God suffer? It is for the sake of you and me. We read in the Gospels how Jesus led a pure and sacred life amidst sufferings. It is necessary that we should follow His example.

"But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ." (1 Corinthians 15:57)
"At the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth." (Philippians 2:10)

Yes my dear friend, let us learn to cling fast to the name of Jesus and submit our needs to Him. Because, the Lord has promised, "If you ask anything in My name, I will do it" (John 14:14). When we pray for our problems in His mighty name, victory will surely be ours. He also said, "Until now you have asked nothing in My name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full" (John 16:24).

Let us examine ourselves. Let us pray to Him, "Lord, in Your matchless name I ask You for a miracle in my sicknesses. Grant me victory in what has been a failure so long." Surely, He will give a favourable answer to your prayer when you ask in His name, because His name is so powerful.

Once God sent an angel along with His servant to show him around hell. On reaching the place, the angel told the servant of God, "Now you can begin your sight-seeing." He then began to say gently, "Jesus, Jesus." Satan and his fallen angels, who were engaged seriously in several schemes of drawing people to their kingdom were simply stunned and frightened as the name of "Jesus" went through the air. They trembled and asked among themselves, "What happened? Has He come again?"

"For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places." (Ephesians 2:16)

As we read in 1 Peter 5:9 "Resist the devil; steadfast in the faith."

My dear friend, the devils tremble at the name of Jesus. No one can harm you. Be brave and bold. Do not be dismayed. Cast off all your anxieties that displease your heart and commit yourself wholly to Jesus.

My dear ones, in this world, we have terrific battles to fight. But, as the Scripture says, let us take up the whole armour of God and hold up the shield of faith. "So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God" (Romans 10:17). Let us take the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. The Bible says that if one meditates in His law day and night, whatever he does shall prosper (Psalm 1:3).

Pay attention to read the Bible with the fear of God. Above all, be careful to watch and pray. Be filled with the power of the Holy Spirit. Then the presence of the Living God and His divine peace will enrich your life to its fullness.

My dear friend, the Lord will grant us victory in any fierce battle in which we may have to be engaged. He will keep you from stumbling and present you to be faultless before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy and happiness. You will be conquerors here on earth and in the world above.

Prayer:

Precious Heavenly Father,

In Your matchless name I ask You to heal all my bodily ailments. Grant me victory in what has been a failure so long. Teach me to grow steadfast in my faith and to read the Holy Scripture daily. Help me to follow Your teachings and commandments in my daily life. Father, help me to feel Your loving presence and Your heavenly peace and joy in my heart. Strengthen me to overcome all tempations, failures and trials. In Jesus' matchless name, I pray.

Amen.
