In the Name of JesusSpeaker: Dr. D.G.S. Dhinakaran Gist: When you are in distress, if you mention the name of the Lord Jesus, Heavenly Father's heart melts. He will deliver you for the one reason that You sought help in His Son's name. Our gracious Lord Jesus assurred His disciples, "In My name they will cast out demons" (Mark 16:17). When the devil threatened to assault them, they had only to mention the name of Jesus, and the devil would scream and take to his heels.
"At the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father." (Philippians 2:10,11)
Do you have Jesus embedded in your heart? If He is there in your heart, you will have no fear. You will have the heavenly glory in yourself as He has glory in His name.
"He has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light." (1 Peter 2:9; Colossians 1:13)
"He has made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus." (Ephesians 2:6)
My dear friend, no devil can ever approach you. Even if thousands of sorcerers and magicians come together, they can do you no harm. Just at the mention of the name of Jesus, Satan will tremble and flee.
"For there is no sorcery against Jacob, Nor any divination against Israel." (Numbers 23:23)
A few months ago, two men belonging to a paramount State were arrested for theft in a neighbouring State. The court decreed that both their hands should be cut off. They were stunned and they trembled worrying about their future. An ambassador of the paramount State who saw the report in the newspaper approached the head of the State Government and said, "This punishment is most attrocious. We can never accept it." At once both the young men were set free.
The authority that was in the ambassador's signature released the convicts. If the mention of a super-power can set free even the condemned theives, will not the name of 'Jesus' save us from all evils? Surely, He will save us.
On May 21, 1986, my beloved daughter Angel expired in a cruel accident. Alas, my heart sinks in sorrow whenever I think of her. Recently, we had been to a country abroad for a gospel crusade. A certain mother gave in my hands a lovely girl baby and said, "Sir, you prayed for me when I was languishing without a child for several years. God, hearing your prayers, gave me this child. Please bless this child." I asked for the child's name. The mother then said, "What other name would we give? We have named her 'Angel'." On hearing that name, my heart melted. Tears streamed forth from my eyes. Quite unaware of what I did, I hugged the child and cried out aloud with prayer for God's blessing on the child, with a feeling that I was holding my own daughter.
My dear friend, the God of gods is seated in heaven amidst millions of angels. When you mention the name of Jesus, His heart quivers. He tells the angelic host, "Alas, someone is in distress and the person is mentioning the name of My Son who died agonizingly on the cross. Find out what he needs." Whatever may threaten to harm you, He will make His power come down for your help. He will make the devil crest-fallen. The Son of God, who came down to destroy the devil's power, will save you from any number of arrows of fiery darts that the devil may hurt you. "No weapon formed against you shall prosper" (Isaiah 54:17). Let not your heart be troubled.

Gracious Heavenly Father,
Thank You for the gift of Your only Son Jesus Christ, in whose name, every power and authority in this earth and in heaven should bow. Thank You for giving me the grace to be Your child and to use the authority in the name of Jesus. I believe that no evil on earth can come against me as I rebuke the devil in Jesus' name. I bow before that mighty name and give You all the glory, honour and praise. I pray in the name of Jesus Christ, who bore all my sins on the cross and has given me victory over the devil.
