Kindness Towards God's Servants

Speaker: Dr. D.G.S. Dhinakaran

Gist: You are a member of God's wonderful household. The Holy Spirit is your close friend. The Lord will supply all your needs. Having such a fellowship, how does the Lord show His concern to you?

You are a member of God's wonderful household. You are the brethren of Christ. The Holy Spirit is your close friend. At the same time, you are also ministers of Christ. St. Paul says, Full time ministers like me are God's fellow workers (1 Corinthians 3:9). Those who labour with our elder brother are ambassadors of Christ (2 Corinthians 5:20).

What does the Lord say about you and me?
"He who receives you receives Me, and he who receives Me receives Him who sent Me. He who receives a prophet in the name of a prophet shall receive a prophet's reward. And he who receives a righteous man in the name of a righteous man shall receive a righteous man's reward. And whoever gives one of these little ones only a cup of cold water in the name of a disciple, assuredly, I say to you, he shall by no means lose his reward." (Matthew 10:40-42)
"Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me." (Matthew 25:40)
When St. Paul writes to the believers in Philippi, he writes saying, "Nevertheless you have done well that you shared in my distress." (Philippians 4:14)
"And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus." (Philippians 4:19)

My dear friend, the love which you show towards servants of God like me is immeasurable. I may not be able to do anything in return to you for the love except to shed tears for you before the Throne of the Lord God Almighty; but the Lord considers your love shown to me as love shown towards the Lord Himself. He will never forget to reward you for the love.

Few years ago, because of severe heart ailment, I was admitted in the hospital. A very eloborate surgery had to be done, lasting for sixteen hours. A huge amount had to be paid to the hospital as medical expenses. We did not have the means to pay the bill. Just then, a certain bank, out of sympathy for me, came forward with an offer, "We shall give you any amount of money as loan. It is enough if your life is saved." Again, we were worried how we could repay the loan and we prayed to our gracious Lord. Many partners who had genuine love for me, began to send me small amounts out of concern for my health, earmarking the amount towards my medical expenses. With such gifts of love alone, we repaid that huge loan.

My dear friend, God remembers every help that you have done to us and to the ministry. Even St.Paul said, "Nevertheless you have done well that you shared in my distress" (Philippians 4:14). The Lord will in return, supply all your needs. He will bless you, grant you His divine peace, joy, riches and authority and make your heart rejoice in every way.

Prayer:

Loving Heavenly Father,

Give me a heart to help others in their difficult times. Teach me to extend my hands to lend them out from their difficulties. Help me always to remember that whatever I do to others, I do it to you. Father, teach me to help those who are serving You. I know that You would bless me a hundredfold in return for all that. I submit myself into Your hands and pray in Jesus' matchless name.

Amen.
