Jesus Intercedes For YouSpeaker: Dr. Paul Dhinakaran Gist: Jesus intercedes for you everyday before the Father. He still bears the wounds that were caused when He was crucified. He loves you. He wishes to grant you a glorious future. Jesus told to Simon Peter, "Simon, Simon! Indeed, Satan has asked for you, that he may sift you as wheat. But I have prayed for you, that your faith should not fail" (Luke 22:31,32). Even after he denied Jesus thrice, because of the prayers that Jesus made for him, he was saved from eternal death and transformed again to be God's child.
My dear friend, even today, Jesus Christ is interceeding for everyone of us with the Father (Hebrews 7:25; Romans 8:34). He is seated at the right hand of the Father. He still bears the wounds that were caused in His body when He was crucified. He pleads for you and me saying, "Father, let not My children be trapped in the sins of this world and be drawn away from Me. Strengthen them to overcome the vices of the wicked devil." That is how grace abounds within us and sin has no power over us (Romans 6:14).
My friend, when we are afraid to go to our office or to our college, when we are vexed by fear in our homes, the Holy Spirit prays helps us to pray in tears. He accompanies us wherever we go. When we please God through our life, He establishes peace all around us.
Recently, we had been to a foreign country to preach the Gospel. A young brother was practising to play the guitar during the Gospel meeting, with much enthusiam and great expectations. The great day for which he had been waiting so eagerly finally arrived. He went to his boss and asked for leave to attend the long awaited meetings. His boss said that he would grant him leave if he wants to see a film or for any entertainment; but he would not grant him leave to go to a meeting that could change his lifestyle for the better. But the young man submitted an ordinary leave letter and left for the meeting. He attended the meetings on all five days and played the guitar happily. When the meetings were over, a fear arose in him as to whether he would lose his job. Trembling in his shoes, he explained his boss all about the meeting. The officer replied, to his surprise, "I too came to the meeting yesterday. I listened intently to the Word of God and received great peace of mind. But you are asked to meet the Chief Manager in the Head Office before you resume your work." He went to the Head Office in much fear; but He believed strongly that God would work all things for good to him according to His promises. The Chief Manager shook hands with him and said, "We are glad to give you a promotion. Here is the order." He was overjoyed and began to praise the Lord. He knew that God does not forsake His children at any time.
My dear friend, do not be afraid. Do not fear deny Jesus like Peter did. But remember that Christ makes intercession for you and would never forsake you. The Holy Spirit helps you to pray with words that you cannot utter. He helps you live a victorious life, walking in the will and plan of God. He will go with you, protect you and exalt you. He wishes to grant you a glorious future. Carry Him in your heart and you will find a big change in your life.
Prayer:
Loving Lord Jesus,
You laid Your life on the cross for my sake. Lord, even today, You embrace me with Your wounded hands. With Your unending love, You interceede for me to Your Father. Let Your Holy Spirit fill me and be with me and srengthen me during times of trouble and fear. Let me never be depressed or discouraged in life. Strenghten me with the Holy Spirit that I may not fall easily in the traps set by the devil. Let me not move away from Your love at any point of time. In Jesus' name, I pray.
Amen. |
